Job summary

MP Materials in Las Vegas, NV, is seeking a Laboratory Analyst 1 to support the Analytical Lab by performing analyses on a wide variety of routine and non-routine samples and ensuring timely, accurate results. This role requires adherence to safety and quality procedures and reports to the Analytical Laboratory Supervisor.

The position offers 12-hour shifts with rotating days and a training period Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Science is required, chemistry preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record to drive company vehicles on property.
• High familiarity with analytical techniques and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with computers and database software.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine analyses on diverse samples using chemical and instrumental methods.
• Review analytical results and QC data, report discrepancies to supervisor.
• Operate and troubleshoot ICP-AES, ICP-MS, XRD, XRF, UV-Vis, AA, TOC, Ion Chromatograph.
• Maintain laboratory instrumentation and safety standards.
• Assist in tracking chemical reagents inventory.
• Ensure timely reporting and documentation of results.
• Support housekeeping and proper lab cleanliness.
• Communicate with other departments to prioritize analytical work.
