Qualifications

  • Requires a minimum of five years in the Refining Industry with knowledge of oil flows and process unit technology.
  • Requires at least two years of experience using analytical tools for monitoring applications.
  • Fluency in English, strong written and verbal communication.
  • Experience delivering modern/digital solutions that include AI/ML software.
  • Knowledge of process data historians recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Review and validate potential failures identified by analytical tools.
  • Develop analytical solutions based on recent failures.
  • Collaborate with multiple groups to drive adoption of analytical tools.
  • Develop standard work processes for analytical tools.
  • Support refinery adoption of proactive monitoring and workflows.
  • Assist reliability initiatives and investigations as needed.
  • Create templates and best practices for fleetwide deployments.
  • Lead projects and manage contractors/vendors as required.
  • Work on-site regularly with travel as needed.

HF Sinclair is seeking an Analytical Engineer - Monitoring in Dallas, TX. In this role, you will be Responsible for the use and deployment of analytical tools for asset and process unit monitoring to support the refineries in early failure identification.

Job Duties
  • Reviews and validates potential failures identified by analytical tools.
  • Reviews recent failures to develop potential analytical solutions.
  • Collaborates with multiple groups to foster an adoption of analytical tools.
  • Aids in the development of standardize work processes for analytical tools
  • Supports the refineries in adoption of proactive monitoring solutions and work processes.
  • Support reliability initiatives and investigations as needed.
  • Develop templates, standard tools, and best practices for fleetwide applications
  • Provides progress, learnings, and achievements cross-fleet
  • Managing contractors and vendors associated with technology deployments
  • Be a self-starter and prioritize work effectively
  • Works on-site regularly, 1 week per month expected, special projects may require more travel
Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion.
Experience
  • A minimum of five years of experience in the Refining Industry with ability to understand oil flows and process unit technology
  • Two years experience in using analytical tools for monitoring applications
Preferred Experience:
  • Knowledge around the use of process data historians
  • Knowledge around multiple refinery process unit technologies
  • OSI PI Asset Framework or equivalent experience
  • Experience in delivering modern/digital solutions that include AI/ML Software
A minimum of a bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (or other related fields), or equivalent work experience in lieu of a four-year degree is required.

Work Conditions

Home-based with up to 25% travel by land or air is required. Subject to all weather and varying road conditions. Occasional long hours, as well as nights and weekends as needed.
