Job summary

Vaxcyte in San Carlos, CA, is seeking a Scientist II, Analytical Development to execute analytical testing and contribute to method development for biologics/vaccine programs. You will perform routine and non-routine analyses with modern techniques, support optimization, and drive investigations with minimal supervision.

The role requires hands-on lab experience, strong data interpretation, and clear documentation.

Qualifications

Strong hands-on experience with UV-Vis, HPLC, CE, SDS-PAGE, icIEF, LC, MS, enzyme kinetics and plate-based assays.
Experience driving method development or optimization is preferred.
Ability to produce inspection-ready documentation and robust data interpretation.

Responsibilities

Contribute to method development, optimization, and qualification/validation readiness activities.
Design and execute experiments to evaluate critical method parameters and define appropriate system suitability and control strategies.
Troubleshoot assay and instrument performance issues with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Support and/or execute method transfer activities, including protocol preparation and training support.
Author and revise analytical methods, SOPs, protocols, and technical reports for internal review.
