Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of industry/chromatography lab experience required.
  • Experience in analytical lab (sample prep, instrument maintenance, data analysis).
  • Valid Driver's License and willingness to travel at least 3 days a week.

Job description

The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a dedicated and high-energy Analytical Chemistry Sales Specialist, responsible for the daily promotion of suppliers and products within the VWR Chemicals and Chromatography portfolio and workflows. This role will be based full-time in British Columbia. If you have a passion for science and enjoy interacting with professionals as clients and peers, let’s talk!

What we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or equivalent experience; Master’s or PhD preferred.
  • 3-5 years of industry/chromatography lab experience.
  • Experience working in an analytical lab, including sample prep, instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
  • Understanding of analytical chemistry marketplace (HPLC, LC/MS, GC, GC/MS, FPLC, spectroscopy, ICP, wet chemistry, etc.).
  • Proactive, results-oriented, with strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative, communicates ideas effectively, and adapts to a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; CRM experience is a plus.
  • Ability to understand customer operations.
  • Valid Driver's License in good standing.
  • Willingness to travel at least 3 days a week to customer locations.
  • Participation in annual US sales conferences and training sessions required.

  • Close sales on technical products with support from general sales reps.

  • Manage territory portfolio and communicate performance and trends to sales teams.
  • Train and motivate sales reps in target product areas.
  • Attend regional meetings, strategy sessions, and technical seminars.
  • Stay informed on market trends and application developments.
