Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. seeks an Engineering Lead to supervise the Analytical Chemistry Lab in Boise, ID.

You will lead the team, set technical direction, ensure safety and on-time results, and advance metrology, automation, data, and AI-enabled solutions for engineering, manufacturing, and facilities customers. Responsibilities include coaching the lab team, maintaining safety, managing budgets, and delivering accurate analyses.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent experience.
• Proven leadership including coaching, performance management, and talent development.
• Experience in analytical chemistry and semiconductor lab operations.
• Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation (ICP-OES/ICP-MS, IC, HPLC/LCMS, GC/GCMS, FTIR, UV/Vis/NIR, Raman).
• Strong project management, prioritization and budget skills; track record of technology improvements.
• Proficiency with AI tools and LIMS, data systems integration, and MS Office.
• Excellent communication; ability to translate data into executive summaries.
• Ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals and lead in lab/cleanroom settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the lab team; set objectives and manage performance.
• Promote safety culture aligned with plans, cleanroom, security, and quality requirements.
• Staff and run the lab to deliver accurate, timely results including instrument maintenance and data review.
• Own metrology strategy and lifecycle planning for analytical tech across materials and devices.
• Drive operational excellence through automation, workflow optimization, and budget management.
• Lead AI and agentic workflows to improve productivity, data analysis, and decision support with data quality and security.
• Serve as main customer contact for complex analyses and provide executive-ready updates.
