Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. seeks an Engineering Lead to supervise the Analytical Chemistry Lab in Boise, directing a team of engineers and analysts. You will set technical direction, ensure safe operations, and deliver timely results while advancing metrology, automation, data, and AI-enabled solutions.

You will lead instrument development, data review, and LIMS records, partnering with Technology Development, manufacturing, Facilities, and external collaborators to drive innovation and quality.

Qualifications

• BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or equivalent experience.
• Proven people leadership, including coaching, performance management, and talent development.
• Experience in analytical chemistry and semiconductor-relevant lab operations.
• Hands-on experience with ICP-OES/ICP-MS, IC, HPLC/LCMS, GC/GCMS, FTIR/UV/Vis/NIR/Raman.
• Strong project management, prioritization, and budget skills with technology improvements.
• Proficiency with AI tools and LIMS, data systems integration, and Office.
• Excellent communication skills, including turning complex data into executive summaries.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop the lab team with clear objectives and performance management.
• Promote a safety-first culture aligned with CHP, cleanroom, security, and quality rules.
• Staff and run the lab to deliver accurate, timely results and manage instruments, methods, data, and LIMS records.
• Own metrology strategy, acquisition, and lifecycle planning for analytical technologies.
• Drive operational excellence through automation, workflow optimization, and budget control.
• Lead integration of AI and agentic workflows to improve productivity and data insights.
• Serve as main customer contact for complex analyses and coordinate with global sites and vendors.
