Job summary

Precise Systems seeks a Chemical Agent Analytical Chemist with 3-5 years of laboratory experience. The role supports initial hazard assessment of hazardous and toxic compounds by evaluating synthesis routes, properties, and stability, with GC, GC‑MS, LC‑MS, LC‑MS/MS expertise.

The position analyzes samples from vapor, soil, water, and tissue, and collaborates with biologists, engineers, and material scientists. A Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of practical laboratory experience.
• Hands-on experience with mass spectrometry, gas chromatography, and liquid chromatography.
• Experience in sample preparation for complex matrices.
• Strong documentation and SOP drafting skills.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Routinely participate in instrumental analysis and testing of known and suspected toxic compounds.
• Analyze samples from vapor, soil, water, and tissue using GC‑FPD, GC‑MS, LC‑MS, and LC‑MS/MS.
• Prepare analytical standards for instrument calibration and verification.
• Determine and evaluate chemical properties such as vapor pressure, solubility, and stability.
• Develop, revise, and maintain laboratory procedures, test plans, and reports.
• Support lab management with inventory, waste handling, and records.
