Job summary

Catalent's Greenville, NC site is a leading center for oral solid dose development and manufacturing, delivering formulation development through commercial production. The Analytical Chemist I role supports pharmaceutical products with routine analytical testing in a safety- and quality-driven environment.

This onsite, Monday–Friday position emphasizes data integrity, adherence to SOPs, and hands-on use of HPLC/GC and spectrophotometric methods to support excipients, APIs, and drug products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a science-related discipline (e.g. Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences)
• Associate degree with 1 year of professional experience in pharmaceutical analytical chemistry
• Catalent lab experience may substitute for 2 years of experience
• Ability to lift 10–40 lbs
• Majority of workday performed standing/walking
• Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching
• Some exposure to hazardous chemicals

Responsibilities

• Maintain data integrity and good documentation practices during experiments
• Compare laboratory data against specifications and trend data to ensure results meet requirements
• Ensure calibration standards are used and returned properly
• Follow SOPs to avoid repeat testing and investigations
• Perform routine testing for chromatographic and spectrophotometric methods (HPLC/GC; UV/IR)
• Enter data into reports and software systems
• Peer review basic laboratory experiments for accuracy
• Develop proficiency with electronic laboratory systems for routine testing
• Other duties as assigned
