Bausch + Lomb in Rochester, NY is seeking an Analytical Chemist to perform routine analytical testing of medical device samples, components, and raw materials using established chromatographic and mass spectrometric methods. You will contribute to method development and regulatory documentation while ensuring data integrity.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific discipline and 4–6 years of analytical chemistry experience in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related scientific discipline.
• Working knowledge of chromatographic and mass spectrometric techniques (HPLC/UPLC, GC-FID, GC-MS, LC-MS, HRMS, DAD, CAD, ICP-MS).
• Knowledge of extractables and leachables testing, chemical characterization, sample preparation, and analytical testing of medical devices preferred.
• Familiarity with ISO 10993 chemical characterization and biocompatibility expectations preferred.
• Experience with method development, optimization, validation, stability testing, and regulatory documentation preferred.
• Strong technical writing and data interpretation skills.

Responsabilités

• Perform routine analytical testing of medical device samples, components, and materials per approved methods.
• Operate and troubleshoot GC/LC-MS, HRMS, ICP-MS, and related analytical instrumentation.
• Support extractables and leachables studies including sample prep and data review.
• Prepare laboratory notebooks, data packages, and final reports with focus on data integrity.
• Assist with method development, transfer, and validation activities under supervision.
• Collaborate with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, QA, and Manufacturing to meet project timelines.
