Apex Systems is seeking a qualified Chemist for a chemical manufacturing facility in Middleport, NY. The role focuses on analytical testing of compounds and raw materials, data reporting, and calibration of analytical equipment, with PPE provided on site.

The position requires chemistry education and experience with HPLC/GC, spectroscopy, and analytical techniques, along with strong computational skills and SAP familiarity. This is a hands-on laboratory role in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Chemistry or equivalent preferred.
• Associate’s Degree in Chemistry or equivalent preferred.
• At least one year experience using HPLC and GC chromatography preferred.
• Experience in spectroscopy and analytical chemistry and SPC skills preferred.
• Good computer skills (MS Office and MS Outlook) with SAP working knowledge preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform tests on samples of raw materials and finished product using a full range of analytical equipment.
• Record data and summarize it to be presented to the proper personnel.
• Prepare and install LC and GC columns.
• Conduct special testing and analysis for new product development, troubleshoot of complaint samples and investigation/analysis of off-spec products and raw materials.
• Collect, record, analyze and maintain environmental and industrial hygiene samples.
