At Idaho National Laboratory, you'll conduct research to improve and advance analytical capabilities in areas such as nuclear science, gas and liquid chromatography, mass spectrometric detection, and radio bioassay, design and participate in experiments to support scientific improvements, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, and operations staff. You'll identify new research opportunities, develop proposals to generate funding, communicate results to internal and external sponsors through written reports and presentations, and may prepare radiological samples in hot cells, gloveboxes, or radiological fume hoods.
Advanced degree in chemistry, physics, or a related field from an accredited institution.
While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, use stairs, and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related equipment. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with people is required.
