Job summary

Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking an Analytical Chemist for a product manufacturing company south of Naperville IL. You will test raw materials and in-process batches to ensure quality, using GC, HPLC, IR, and other lab instruments to support manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and collaborative, with a BS in chemistry or related field and at least two years of laboratory experience in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemistry or related field required.
• 2 years of industry lab experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with sample preparation, method validation, and production testing.
• Experience analyzing data and preparing technical reports.
• Hands-on experience with GC, HPLC, and IR is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing of raw materials according to established procedures and specifications.
• Test in-process production batches and communicate any out-of-specification results to the appropriate teams.
• Assist in identifying and recommending solutions for in-process batches that do not meet quality standards.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including GC, HPLC, IR, and other analytical equipment.
• Perform routine instrument calibration as required to ensure accurate and reliable results.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of testing methods, procedures, and laboratory documentation.
• Analyze laboratory data and prepare clear, accurate reports.
• Collaborate with Quality, Production, and other departments to investigate issues and implement solutions.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records and follow all quality and safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

You will utilize a variety of analytical instrumentation, including Gas Chromatography (GC), High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Infrared Spectroscopy (IR), and other laboratory equipment to support manufacturing operations.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience in analytical testing within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience with sample preparation, method validation, and production testing.
• Experience analyzing data and preparing technical reports.
• Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation, including GC, HPLC, and IR, preferred.
