Job summary

Daktronics in Brookings, SD is seeking Analyst Students to gain hands-on experience in analytics, data integrity, and reporting using Excel, SQL, Power BI, Salesforce, and other enterprise tools. You’ll gather business requirements, build self-service dashboards, and support BI solutions while learning Daktronics products and processes.

• The preferred applicant will be a student registered in at least 12 credits.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Math, Statistics, Business, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
• The student should be in sophomore or junior year and maintain a good GPA.

Responsibilities

• Discovering, preparing, organizing, and analyzing data from across the enterprise to support Business Intelligence and Analytics solutions.
• Ensuring data integrity in databases.
• Managing and analyzing reports using Salesforce, Glovia, Windchill, and Excel.
• Utilizing Power BI to develop self-service reports and dashboards.
• Designing, developing, and maintaining solutions using SQL or VBA.
• Assisting with QA of solutions and troubleshooting data issues.

Analyst Students may gain experience in these areas:

• Using analytics to gain business insight and drive improvements.
• Gathering business requirements for tools, product offerings, or systems.
• Data integrity solutions and best practices for data validation and verification.
• Process improvements – how to successfully plan, implement, document, and train systemic changes.
• Programmingin Excel, SQL, Power BI, and other programs to create tools for business use.

Analyst Students may participate in the following activities:

• Discovering, preparing, organizing, and analyzing data from across the enterprise to support Business Intelligence and Analytics solutions.
• Ensuring data integrity in databases.
• Managingand analyzing reports using internaland externalprograms suchasSalesforce, Glovia, Windchill,and Excel.
• Utilizing tools such as PowerBI to develop self-service reports and dashboards.

  Understanding the business processes and how they interact with the data.

• Discovering, designing, developing, and maintaining solutions using programming languages such as SQL or VBA.
• Assisting with quality assurance (QA) of solutions.
• Troubleshooting data issues with production solutions.
• Collaborating with others to solve problems.

When will I work?

Applicants should be available to work approximately 15 hours per week (maximum of 20 hours per week) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.

Where is this opportunity located?

Position has opportunity to work from a US Based home office. This position is open to candidates eligible to work in the U.S.

What are the pay and perks?

The typical hiring range for this position is $16.00 to $18.00 per hour based on the location of Brookings, SD. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation.

Students with GPA of 3.5 and above may be eligible for a $500 Academic Excellence Reward for each spring and fall semester completed while employed. Additional conditions may apply.

Qualifications

To be considered for Analyst Student, we require the following:

Academic Requirements:

• The preferred applicant will be a student registered in at least 12 credits.
• Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited Bachelor’s degree program in Math, Statistics, Business, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
• The preferred applicant will be in their sophomore or junior year of school.
• Only strong academic performers will be considered and must maintain an acceptable GPA.
• Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application.

Other Requirements:

• Good oral and written communication skills, good organizational skills, problem-solving skills and self-motivation.
• Microsoft office experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a teamenvironment.
• Ability to understand and take direction on solving complex business information problems.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of all Daktronics information.
• Ability to meet all workplace safety requirements.
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
