Job summary

Access TeleCare is seeking an Analyst, Strategic Operations (IDR) to support the Independent Dispute Resolution program under the No Surprises Act. The role involves validating data, determining eligibility, and building cases for submission while driving timely payments and overseeing vendor relationships.

You’ll report to the Vice President of Strategic Operations (IDR) and help scale the program with process improvements, SOPs, and proactive reporting in a 100% remote, nationwide environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, Economics or similar preferred.
  • 0–2 years of work experience; internship, co-op, or coursework in healthcare, analytics, or operations preferred.
  • Experience with Salesforce and large datasets; Tableau is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; negotiation skills to advocate for approvals.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, validate, and submit Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) disputes and confirm eligibility.
  • Review claim, payer, and determination data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies before submission.
  • Facilitate payer escalations and drive cash collections through outreach and follow-up.
  • Develop standard operating procedures, training materials, and workflow docs for escalation and collection activity.
  • Support vendor management by organizing documentation and tracking deliverables.
  • Develop reporting and metrics for the IDR program and surface trends.
  • Translate analytical results for non-technical audiences including executives.
  • Maintain knowledge of payer guidelines and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with payers to resolve issues and improve payer relations.
  • Identify process improvements and own improvement projects.

The Opportunity

Access TeleCare is looking for an Analyst, Strategic Operations (IDR) to help lead execution of our Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) program under the No Surprises Act (NSA) — one of the newest and fastest-moving areas in healthcare today. Reporting to the Vice President of Strategic Operations (IDR), you'll validate claim and payer data, confirm dispute eligibility, and build and submit cases on Access TeleCare's behalf. You'll also drive payment on claims through direct payer escalation, help oversee program vendors, and shape the reporting, documentation, and process improvements that will scale this program as it grows. What You’ll Do

  • Prepare, validate, and submit Independent Dispute Resolution (IDR) disputes, including confirming eligibility under federal and state requirements and customizing the supporting evidence submitted for each dispute
  • Review claim, payer, and determination data for accuracy and completeness, resolving discrepancies before submission
  • Facilitate payer escalations and drive cash collections on prior disputes through direct phone outreach, written and faxed follow-up, and consistent tracking of payment status through resolution
  • Develop standard operating procedures, training materials, and workflow documentation for escalation and collection activity, including work performed by offshore resources
  • Support vendor management by locating and organizing documentation, coordinating contract and information requests, tracking deliverables, and monitoring vendor performance against expectations
  • Develop and maintain proactive reporting and metrics for the IDR program, surfacing trends in eligibility, determinations, payer behavior, and recovery
  • Translate and articulate analytical results with common sense approach to non-technical business audience including executive management and external partners
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payer guidelines, state/federal regulations, and industry standards to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with all requirements throughout program
  • Collaborate and communicate with payers during the dispute process to reach a mutually beneficial resolution where possible and support continually improving payer relations
  • Ability to work independently to resolve data integrity and integration issues with various team members across various departments
  • Identify opportunities to improve process, documentation, and tooling as the program matures, and take ownership of assigned improvement projects

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, Economics or similar is preferred
  • 0-2 years of work experience; internship, co-op, or coursework in healthcare, finance, analytics, or operations preferred
  • Prior experience working with multiple systems and platforms
  • Experience in high growth company in healthcare preferred
  • Experience with the Independent Dispute Resolution process under the NSA preferred; training will be provided
  • Proven ability to demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work through ambiguous or undefined problems and recommend a course of action
  • Excel (pivot table, vlookup) and comfort working with large datasets
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and follow through on long-running items with limited direct supervision
  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication for both internal teams and external payer parties
  • Negotiation and conflict-resolution skills to advocate for claim approvals
  • Ability to interpret and apply payer policies, state/federal regulations, and compliance standards
  • Proficiency in time management to handle high-volume workloads
  • Ability to work effectively under deadlines and self-manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred; exposure to Tableau or similar visualization tools a plus
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards such as HIPAA, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Interest in learning a complex and rapidly evolving regulatory area and growing with the program
  • Ability to thrive in a high growth, fast-paced organization, and 100% Remote based environment
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
  • Occasional travel for meetings and collaboration
