Analyst – Strategic Initiatives

Department: Strategy and Operations

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: 1668 S. Garfield Ave. 2nd Floor, Alhambra, CA 91801

Description

About the Role: As an Analyst – Strategic Initiatives in the Office of the CEO, you will work directly on the most critical priorities shaping Astrana Health’s future. This role is designed for someone who is intellectually curious, resourceful, and thrives in high-pressure environments. You’ll partner with leaders across the company to execute cross-functional projects, evaluate new opportunities, and support the CEO in driving strategic growth and operational excellence.

This is an opportunity to learn at the pace of a startup, build skills across strategy, operations, and analytics, and make a tangible impact on the trajectory of a publicly traded, rapidly scaling healthcare company. The ideal candidate is hungry, adaptable, and motivated by the chance to solve complex problems while advancing value-based care for millions of patients nationwide.

The Opportunity
  • Join a high-visibility team as a core member of the Office of the President & CEO.
  • Thrive in a startup-like environment within a publicly traded, rapidly expanding healthcare leader.
  • Work closely with highly collaborative leadership teams across the organization during a pivotal period of rapid scale and integration.
  • Gain unique visibility into the entire healthcare stack — payer, provider, and patient — at one of the most tech-forward value-based care companies in the nation.
  • Be part of shaping strategic initiatives tied to major acquisitions, full-risk contracting, and technology platform integration.
What You\'ll Do
  • Partner with teams across Operations, Clinical Services, Analytics, Finance, and Business Development to execute cross-functional projects and drive scalable processes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on time-sensitive, high-stakes strategic initiatives.
  • Contribute to new initiative launches through project management, workflow design, data analysis, and executive-level presentation building.
  • Quickly learn and adapt to new domains, synthesizing complex information into actionable insights.
  • Develop frameworks, processes, and tools that enable organizational growth and operational excellence.
  • Help define and implement project management best practices across the organization.
  • Operate with urgency, ownership, and precision — pushing projects forward in a fast-paced, outcomes-driven environment.
Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in consulting, investment banking, healthcare strategy, or similar analytical/strategic role (exceptional internship experience considered).
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to independently develop solutions to complex challenges.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, including comfort presenting to executives.
  • Highly motivated, resourceful, and comfortable navigating ambiguity with minimal oversight.
  • Eager, collaborative team player with low ego, high curiosity, and a bias for action.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); familiarity with data tools (SQL, Tableau, Python, etc.) is a plus.
  • Passion for healthcare, public health, or value-based care with a genuine desire to improve the lives of underserved patients.
  • Bias for action, urgency, and impact — this is not a role for someone looking for routine or predictability.
Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Remote – U.S. Based position.
  • The total compensation target range for this role is: $80,000 - $100,000. The salary range represents our national target range for this role.
