Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in project finance or M&A.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • Experience with project finance proposals, structures, regulatory frameworks, and multiple projects.
  • Experience in energy, real estate, tax equity, or prior project finance roles preferred.
  • Strong financial modeling, presentation, and communication skills; detail-oriented.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in equity and debt fundraising and optimizing capital structure.
  • Knowledge of project finance documentation and financial closing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and iterate on Project Finance models from concept to future cash flows.
  • Support lender processes, analyze financing proposals and prepare closing deliverables.
  • Review financial data, due diligence, and documentation with lenders and lawyers.
  • Collaborate with project development to reflect assumptions and risks; conduct feasibility studies.
  • Calculate project/equity IRRs, DSCRs, and sensitivity scenarios.
  • Support economic review of potential M&A opportunities.
  • Assist development and RFP processes through analysis of key terms and sensitivity scenarios.
  • Prepare and manage project-specific deliverables related to financial or contractual requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date on renewable energy industry trends and regulatory changes (e.g. IRA).

Salary Range: $105,000 - $125,000 plus bonus and incentive stock options

Reports to: Director, Project Finance

Job Summary

The Analyst, Project Finance will play a key role in developing financial models, conducting financial analysis and due diligence, and preparing financial and operational reports. This person will help evaluate strategic investments, support new project development and competitive bids, and present insights to key stakeholders, including company leadership. The Analyst will collaborate with teams across NineDot and gain valuable exposure to investment banks, tax equity investors, and external consultants.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage, maintain, and iterate on Project Finance models to evaluate project economics from concept to future cash flows.
  • Support lender processes, analyze financing proposals and prepare closing deliverables.
  • Review and interpret financial data, due diligence, and documentation with lenders and lawyers.
  • Work closely with the project development team to screen new projects and ensure financial models accurately reflect project assumptions and risks, and conduct feasibility studies to express the financial viability of new ventures.
  • Undertake all the necessary activities, i.e., collecting the information, preparing the projection model, finalizing the design, etc. to evaluate capital investment, proposals and calculate project/equity IRRs, DSCRs, sensitivity scenarios, etc.
  • Support economic review and interpretation of potential M&A opportunities.
  • Support development and RFP processes through analysis of economic impact of key terms and conditions and sensitivity scenarios.
  • Prepare and manage project specific deliverables related to financial or contractual requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date on renewable energy industry trends, financial markets, and regulatory changes (e.g. IRA), and make recommendations for strategic adjustments.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required education and experience:

  • Experience and knowledge in areas of project proposals, project finance structures, regulatory frameworks, and all the financial accountabilities related to multiple projects.
  • Experience in the energy, real estate, tax equity, and prior project finance roles strongly preferred.
  • Strong financial modeling, presentation and communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in equity and debt fundraising and optimizing capital structure.
  • Knowledge of project finance documentation and experience handling financial closing work either as a project developer or a financier.
