Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Business, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of experience in renewable energy or asset management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities; proficient with Excel.
  • Understanding of PV systems and distributed generation programs a plus.
  • Authorized to work in the US.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret production data of solar equipment to ensure optimal generation.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of assets to meet performance and financial targets.
  • Oversee third-party O&M providers and ensure repairs are completed.
  • Provide regular reports to management and investors.
  • Formulate spare parts strategies across the fleet to control costs.
  • Monitor performance and investigate outages to minimize impact.
  • Collaborate with origination, development, project finance, and operations teams.
  • Assist during system testing and construction to ensure smooth transition to asset management.
  • Conduct project evaluations and audits to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Lead major Asset Management projects including retrofits and warranty claims.
  • Coordinate delivery of O&M agreements, RFPs, and closing documentation.
  • Travel to project sites as needed.

Job description

Summit Ridge Energy’s Operations & Maintenance (O&M) team is responsible for ensuring that SRE’s solar sites, totaling over 600MW, continue to deliver reliable energy to subscribers.

The Operations & Maintenance Analyst will support the Director of Operations and Maintenance and Senior Analyst in overseeing Summit Ridge Energy’s growing portfolio of distributed generation solar projects across the United States, with the goal of maximizing the performance of all generating assets under management. This position helps the Asset Management team achieve its day‑to‑day financial and operating performance targets. The Analyst will need to have a strong aptitude for learning and eagerness to solve problems. To be successful in the role this person will need to understand and communicate complex technical data, understand the operations and optimization of solar assets, interpret contracts and legal documents, and adhere to best practices and processes.

Role And Responsibilities
  • Interpret production data of solar equipment to ensure optimal generation of assets
  • Manage the day‑to‑day operations of assets to achieve key performance, availability, and financial targets
  • Manage third‑party O&M providers and ensure corrective maintenance operations are evaluated & completed
  • Provide and present daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to internal management and strategic investors to review overall performance and strategic initiatives
  • Formulate and oversee the spare parts strategy across the fleet to ensure availability of parts while optimizing for financial cost of purchasing, storing, and shipping
  • Monitor operational performance reports; investigate major plant outages and influence resolution to minimize outages and support insurance claims
  • Interface with the origination, development, project finance, and operations groups with feedback on best practices and lessons learned through operations
  • Work with the construction team during system testing and construction completion to ensure effective transition to asset management and full operational performance including site configuration modeling, remote accessibility review, commissioning documentation collection, punch list review, and underperformance analysis.
  • Perform project evaluations and audits to make recommendations in support of plant optimization, performance improvement, warranty claims, and revenue recovery
  • Lead major projects for Asset Management‑owned properties including equipment retrofits, multi‑site warranty claims, manufacturer initiatives, data sanitization, and historic documentation management
  • Manage delivery of O&M Agreements, contracting RFPs and bilateral documentation at project closing milestones
  • Occasional travel to project sites and development sites as needed
Required Skills/Competencies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Business, or another related major
  • 1‑2 years of experience in renewable energy, asset management, construction, real estate, property management, project development, contract administration, or a related commercial field
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to succinctly summarize complex financial and technical issues, both in writing and verbally
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage workflows across teams, handle conflicting deadlines and multiple tasks while maintaining flexibility, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. Advanced computer skills including PowerPoint, Word, and especially Excel
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a desire to contribute meaningfully in a fast‑paced company environment.
  • Understanding of PV systems, design, operation, management, and financing a plus
  • Experience with distributed generation regulated market programs and compliance a plus
  • Authorized to work in the US.
