Job summary

Energy Transfer is seeking an Analyst in Measurement to manage data entry and validation for volumes, S/W, and liquid quality. You will use measurement data systems to ensure accuracy, prepare monthly reports, and support loss/gain activities across departments. A degree in a relevant field plus analytical experience is expected, with familiarity in Excel and PowerBI. This is a full-time, on-site role in Houston, TX.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
  • 2-5 years of analytical experience in gas transmission or related fields preferred.
  • Excellent communication and data analysis skills.
  • Proficient use of financial systems and analysis tools including Excel and PowerBI.

Responsibilities

  • Manual entry of 3rd party volumes and liquid quality data.
  • Analyze imported and manual volumes, water/solvent data, and liquid quality data for accuracy and balance.
  • Maintain integrity of meter and volume information in measurement data systems.
  • Create and distribute analytical reports to validate measurement data accuracy.
  • Provide loss/gain support to accounting and operations for custody transfer issues.

Summary:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manual entry of 3 rd party volumes and liquid quality data.
  • Uses measurement data system tools and reports to analyze both imported and manual volumes, S&W, and liquid quality data, to ensure accuracy and balance in all units of measure.
  • Maintains integrity of meter and volume information in measurement data system for assigned assets.
  • Creates, reviews, and distributes various analytical information and reports needed to validate the accuracy of measurement data.
  • Provide loss/gain support to Accounting, Product Movement, Measurement and operations personnel in the tracking and resolution of custody transfer issues in compliance with applicable SOX and internal measurement specifications, codes, safety standards and operating procedures
  • Works in conjunction with third party interconnecting companies to insure timely and accurate measurement data exchange.
  • Works with field operations to prepare and provide current and historical meter and S&W information for use in the verification of gross and net volumes, as well as mass balances were applicable, for daily and monthly G/L resolution.
  • Monthly G/L report preparation, review & distribution for Crude and Refined Products Pipelines.

Meter factor trending by system with explanation of factors with variance for assigned assets.

  • API @ 60 trending by PL system, location & area for assigned assets.
  • Reconcile tank tickets in measurement and or accounting systems with SCADA generated reports for assigned assets.

Required Skills

Hi gh school diploma or equivalent>>College degree preferred (accounting, mathematics or science) or directly related experience in lieu

Requirements

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance, mathematics, computer science or additional equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of analytical experience, preferably in the gas transmission industry, in any of the following areas: cost or budget analysis; system or procedures analysis; computer operation or programming; or contract administration or analysis.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient use of financial systems and analysis tools, including Microsoft Excel and PowerBI with the ability to manipulate and analyze data .
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with all levels of organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills and follow through skills required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work overtime on short notice. Some travel and overnight stays required.
  • Position to be filled commensurate with skill set, education and experience.
