Job summary

Urban Science in Woodcliff Lake, NJ offers a hybrid role where the Analyst delivers high-quality analyses and client solutions. You will collaborate with an account team, both in person and remotely, to ensure accurate data, reports and projects.

Training and in-office collaboration are emphasized during onboarding. The position requires a Bachelor's degree and strong analytical, technical and client-facing capabilities, with a base salary range of $70,000 to $75,000 plus discretionary incentive

  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited college or university.
  • Technical or quantitative degrees are strongly preferred, including engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, applied science, information systems, operations research, or related fields.
  • Candidates with non-technical degrees will be considered if they demonstrate analytical and programming capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, develops and delivers client-requested reports, deliverables and projects on time.
  • Designs, creates and manages client databases using Urban Science proprietary software.
  • Accurately performs application coding and testing functions for custom client software.
  • Tracks, processes, analyzes and verifies data to improve accuracy and quality.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Analyst supports the delivery of LeadView services for Urban Science as part of a collaborative account team. The position blends strong technical expertise with client facing skills to deliver high quality analyses, projects, and solutions with accuracy and efficiency. Regular, in person collaboration with the local team is essential to success in this role.

This role follows a hybrid work model based out of our Woodcliff Lake, NJ office. Candidates must be able to work in person two days per week (currently Tuesdays and Wednesdays). During initial training, additional in-office time may be required to support hands‑on learning and collaboration.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS DISCLOSURE

The reasonably expected base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $75,000, plus eligibility for discretionary incentive compensation. This range reflects a good‑faith estimate of the compensation expected to be offered at the time of hire and may vary based on factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, internal equity, geographic location, and business needs.

  • Plans, organizes, develops and delivers client-requested reports, deliverables and projects on time, adhering to client requested specifications.
  • Designs, creates and manages client databases, utilizing Urban Science proprietary software, ensuring accurate and high quality data.
  • Accurately performs application coding and testing functions associated with the development of custom client software.
  • Tracks, processes, analyzes and verifies data in order to improve accuracy and quality.
  • Use technical skills to accurately monitor, update and maintain Urban Science internal software systems.
  • Adheres to quality control standards for Urban Science and client organizations.
  • Coordinates with individuals or teams to complete analyses, tasks and projects on time and with high quality.
  • Effectively responds to client inquiries/requests in a timely manner to help improve client satisfaction.
  • Proactively communicates with management to provide updates and report issues in a timely manner.
  • Actively works with manager to understand and implement solutions to improve NPS (client satisfaction).
  • Actively supports and participates in required Urban Science training programs to achieve targeted development objectives.
  • Works with manager in completing own annual goal setting and performance review in a timely manner.
  • Works with manager to prioritize other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited college or university (or equivalent foreign institution).
  • Technical or quantitative degrees are strongly preferred, including engineering, applied mathematics, statistics, applied science, information systems, operations research, or related fields.
  • Candidates with non-technical degrees will be considered if they demonstrate the analytical, technical, and programming capabilities required for the role.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Progress towards Apprentice-level certification for one practice area
  • Urban Science Ambassador designation.
  • Completion of Statistics I & Basic Statistics Assessment (or external equivalent).
  • Completion of Introduction to Operations Research (or external equivalent).
