General Purpose of Job

This role provides timely and accurate investment and derivatives data and investment accounting for the General Account Invested Assets on a Statutory, GAAP, Management, and Tax basis. Responsibilities include securities research, analysis, and proper accounting treatment of Lincoln Financial Group's investment positions to support strategic initiatives. Knowledge sharing within the team is also emphasized.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Analyze and reconcile complex investment accounting transactions, ensuring integrity and compliance with policies and principles.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on investment transactions.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers.
  • Develop control processes to support internal controls and compliance standards.
  • Identify trends and issues in investment accounting, and develop mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate with auditors to resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders for accurate and timely investment accounting processes.
  • Stay updated on industry developments and incorporate new trends.
  • Prepare technical financial documents, presentations, and communications.
  • Generate and analyze earnings memos and key metrics.
  • Prepare financial footnotes for SEC, GAAP, and statutory reporting.
  • Support organizational initiatives and change management.
  • Provide investment accounting information to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Resolve discrepancies and inquiries related to General Account Invested Assets.
  • Assist in industry and governmental surveys.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (minimum 4 years).
  • 3-5 years experience in investment accounting or related systems.
  • Preferred: Insurance Industry or Financial Services experience.
  • Technical knowledge in investment accounting and operations.
  • CPA / CFA preferred but not required.
  • Strong problem-solving, relationship management, organizational, and proficiency skills.
