Job summary

KCAS Bio, a fast-growing CRO, is seeking an Analyst II to join the method development team in Kansas City. You will contribute to project work involving sample preparation, method development, LCMS/LC-MS/MS quantification, data analysis, and report generation, with supervision from a lead scientist.

The role emphasizes wet chemistry, instrument setup, and collaboration across teams, with opportunities for growth through KCAS University and an employee stock ownership program.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in Chemistry, Biochemistry, chemical/biochemical engineering or related field.
  • Experience with wet chemistry.
  • Entry level position, but some experience with LCMS or analytical techniques; experience with Proteins, Peptides, and Immunoaffinity is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to all phases of assigned projects including sample preparation, method development and qualification for LCMS, troubleshooting, data analysis and report generation.
  • Work with a lead scientist to identify critical experiments and deliver results.
  • Able to set up and change instrument configurations for various LCMS methods.
  • Prepare data summaries for senior scientists to aid in client updates.

When you work as an Analyst II at KCAS in the method development team, you get to further our mission by being part of a growing team that is responsible for helping to develop methods for both large and small molecule assays utilizing skills including sample prep, instrumentation, and data analysis; with a focus in LC-MS/MS quantification or targeted proteomics.

  • Contribute to all phases of assigned projects including sample preparation (extractions, enrichments/affinity capture, digestions), method development and qualification for LCMS, troubleshooting, data analysis and report generation
  • Work with a lead scientist to identify critical experiments and deliver results
  • Able to set up and change instrument configurations for various LCMS methods
  • Prepare data summaries for senior scientists to aid in client updates
  • BS/BA degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, chemical/biochemical engineering, or related field
  • Experience with wet chemistry
  • This is an entry level position, but some experience with LCMS or analytical techniques, experience with Proteins, Peptides, and Immunoaffinity is a plus
