The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) seeks a Security Analyst to support the Laboratory Safety and Emergency Response Unit. You will assist with research, planning, and training for campus emergency response plans, and coordinate fire drills and evacuation teams.
You will also handle contract documentation, budgeting, and invoice processing, reporting to the LSER Supervisor I. This role is hybrid in Contra Costa County and includes a 3% PLP 2025 pay reduction through June 2027.

This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by performing a wide range of complex, analytical, and technical assignments for the Laboratory Safety and Emergency Response Unit (LSER) consisting of providing assistance in the research, planning, and training on the campus emergency response plans, coordination of fire drills for all of the buildings, including coordination of the evacuation teams supplies and meetings/trainings. The Analyst II is responsible for the documentation preparation of contracts and solicitations, contract budgeting and invoice processing, and responds to annual drills related to contract budgets.
The incumbent works under the direction of the Supervisor I, Chief of the LSER Unit.
In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP) 2025. This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027.
