Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education seeks a data-driven analyst to support the STAR division with data collection, validation, and reporting. You will develop internal dashboards and collaborate with departments to meet reporting needs.
You will conduct quantitative and qualitative research, support academic program reviews, and assist with special scholarship reporting. Excellent Excel/BI tool skills are essential.
Provide a high level of support for projects/programs in the System Analysis and Reporting ( STAR ) division. Data produced are used to make policy decisions for the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education and fulfill ad hoc requests from the state system institutions, legislature, media, and public.
Bachelor’s degree is required with a preference of a degree with a strong concentration in qualitative or quantitative research. Must be self-directed and have proven analytical, problem solving, organizational, and verbal written communication skills. Proficient in spreadsheet and word processing applications (Microsoft Excel and Word). Familiar with or willing to learn SQL for data extraction. Familiar with or willing to learn SAS , Tableau, Power BI or other business intelligence tools to create dashboards. Knowledgeable of or willing to learn about the Oklahoma State System of Higher Education is desired.
Master’s degree with a preference for data science, economics, and/or mathematics/statistics or related field and knowledge of Oklahoma higher education system is desired. Seeking applicant with experience using SAS data platform, though experience in another software could be an acceptable substitute. Experience with data visualizations and/or data dashboard development is also desired. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, databases, and email preferred.
Proficient in at least one statistical package: SPSS , SAS , STATA , R, etc.
The employee performs work under the supervision of the Director of Data Analytics and Reporting.
Work Hours Agency offices are open to the public from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. Monday through Friday. These are the normal office hours for Agency employees.
Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. Ability to operate a computer, keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Ability to use a computer screen and printed material, to communicate clearly, physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds, and to perform tasks that may require bending, stooping, and reaching. Must use the proper method to manually handle equipment, including but not limited to dollies, carts, and lift team members. Duties are normally performed in an office environment with a moderate noise level.
