The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) is seeking a Disability Consultant (Analyst I) to join their team in Sacramento. This role involves assisting employees and management in utilizing employee leave programs and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Compensation includes a salary range of $3,861.00 – $4,839.00 per month, with potential opportunities for advancement. The role is permanent, full-time, and offers a hybrid telework option.

The Human Resources Division (HRD) partners with CDPH’s programs and management to provide guidance and consultative services on Human Resources matters that are necessary for the Department to carry out its mission to deliver quality public health services. The Disability Management Section (DMS) of the HRD is dedicated to assisting employees, supervisors, and managers with the appropriate application of all employee leave programs and the maintenance of a productive workforce through the facilitation of return‑to‑work options and the Employee Assistance Program.
Our office is located in downtown Sacramento at the East End Complex, across the street from the beautiful Capitol Park Rose Garden.

As a member of the Disability Management Unit (DMU), the Analyst I supports CDPH by assisting employees, supervisors, and managers in the appropriate application of employee leave programs—including the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), California Family Rights Act (CFRA), Non‑Industrial Disability Insurance (NDI), State Disability Insurance (SDI), Parental Leave (PL), medical Leave of Absence (LOA), Catastrophic Leave (CL), and the Reasonable Accommodation (RA) Program—as well as the Workers’ Compensation (WC) Program and the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The Analyst I performs analytical assignments of average difficulty, evaluates RA requests, applies departmental policy and state or federal regulations (e.g., ADA, Cal/OSHA rules, relevant labor‑code provisions), and provides accurate information and support to employees, program staff, managers, and supervisors. The incumbent works under the supervision of the Supervisor I, Chief of the DMU.
