  • Enter data into LIMS and perform routine administrative tasks.
  • Support duties of Technical Manager or Study Manager as requested.
  • Promote safety and quality programs.

Job Summary

The Analyst I works in an accredited commercial laboratory, performing routine scientific tasks under close supervision. Responsibilities focus on food chemistry and food analysis.

Essential Functions
  • Follow established SOPs and regulatory requirements to prepare and process samples, and collect compositional data.
  • Prepare standards, solutions, reagents, media, and samples for analysis.
  • Use specialized laboratory equipment and instrumentation for sample analysis.
  • Set up equipment and instrumentation.
  • Accurately record observations and data and provide basic interpretation.
  • Maintain procedural integrity and record professional activity for peer review.
  • Monitor and resolve sample backlog issues.
  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date logs, notebooks, and equipment records.
  • Perform laboratory administrative functions such as filing, photocopying, data review, and entry into LIMS.
  • May perform duties of a Technical Manager or Study Manager as requested.
  • Comply with and promote safety and quality programs.
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma with two years of related experience or a bachelor's degree.
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory principles, terminology, techniques, and instrumentation.
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage time to meet deadlines and rush orders.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Able to work with delicate laboratory equipment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Physical Requirements
  • Use hands frequently to manipulate tools and controls; listen, speak, and sometimes taste or smell.
  • Occasionally stand, walk, and sit.
  • Must regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Requires normal vision and depth perception.
Working Conditions
  • Work near moving mechanical parts with exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and chemicals.
  • Noise level is usually moderate.
