Job Description And Duties

METROPOLITAN STATE HOSPITAL- Located in Norwalk, Los Angeles County

The Health and Safety - Standards and Compliance Department has a full-time, permanent position for an Analyst I/II. The position will function in a wide range of activities, including implementing and maintaining a myriad of DSH-Metropolitan's safety programs. These include but are not limited to Injury and Illness Prevention Program, Hazardous Waste Management Program, Hazard Communication Program, and Heat Injury and Illness program.

The incumbent will also coordinate the hospital's Ergonomic Program via evaluation, assessment, and tracking. They will also assist with worksite inspections and hazard assessments as well as receiving and facilitating resolution of safety concerns. They will provide risk assessments by observing, documenting and facilitating resolution of unsafe conditions and environmental deficiencies. Observation and monitoring activities include visiting worksites of suspected of identified hazards then processing and tracking plans of corrections for identified deficiencies.

Computer knowledge, writing ability and verbal presentation skills are essential. The position requires excellent attendance, strong analytical skills, and good communication skills and must be able to work effectively with others. Incumbents will be responsible for performing research, analyses, development, and implementation of data trending and tracking, various and complex technical analytical assignments. General awareness of CalOSHA and DIR regulations and occupational safety are desirable. List eligible and lateral transfers will be considered.
