Job summary

BSK Associates in Fresno, CA is seeking an enthusiastic Analyst I to join our team. This role involves analytical sample determinations, data evaluation, and maintaining quality control with our existing instrumentation.

You will support sample preparation, calibration, and documentation while ensuring safety and compliance in a full-time laboratory setting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of an Associate degree in Chemistry or related Science field.
  • 2 years of applicable experience.
  • Ability to operate analytical equipment and perform data evaluation.
  • Maintain quality control documentation and logs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analytical sample determinations using analytical equipment and SOPs.
  • Schedule daily work and manage laboratory turnaround times.
  • Prepare samples, calibrations, and QC standards.
  • Record results and calculations in the logbooks and system.
  • Submit raw data for approval per department procedures.
  • Maintain instrumentation and report results accurately.

Job-Type:Full-Time Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00pm

Full-Time employees receive our comprehensive compensation package which includes 100% employer paid Medical insurance with by-up options for your dependents. Employee and Dependent Dental and Vision plans, Employee Assistance Program, ESOP and 401k plans. 8 Paid Holidays, Paid Sick and Paid Vacation time earned on an accrued basis. The pay range for this position is $16.90-$25.50 paid hourly, offers will be based on the successful candidate's experience.

Role and Responsibilities

Sample Analysis - Performs assigned sample determination utilizing various analytical equipment, basic instrumentationand wet chemistry techniques, in accordance with standard operating procedures, including analysis, data evaluation,and reporting, ensuring that all method required quality control protocols be met.

Analytical duties may include:

  • Reviewing sample work list and scheduling daily work, maintaining regular laboratory turn-around timeincluding priority sample scheduling.
  • Preparing samples according to standard operating procedures.
  • Preparing calibration and quality control standards.
  • Perform analytical steps in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Record quality control standards preparation, weight of samples, dilutions, spiked sample preparations, andanalytical sequences in the appropriate logbooks/Element.
  • Review results to verify that minimum quality control requirements are met, calculate results, and reportresults in Element.
  • Submit raw data packages for approval, according to department procedures.
  • Maintain quality control charts, as required by each method.
  • Report analytical results and quality control data in a manner that maximizes efficiency.
  • Maintain instrumentation and equipment on a regular basis.
  • Notify technical services and department supervisor when equipment failure occurs, or when majormaintenance is required.
  • Document all maintenance in appropriate logbooks.
Supplies:
  • Ensure there is sufficient supply of consumables, including reagents, standards, disposable items, and parts.
  • Order all required items through the supply ordering process.
Documentation used (when applicable):
  • Standards log book for calibration standard preparation, spiking and surrogate solutions, etc.
  • Instrument maintenance logs.
  • Refrigerators, freezers and incubators temperature logs.
Education and Experience

Analyst I: Minimum of Associates degree in Chemistry or related Science field and 2 years’ applicable experience
