Under the supervision of the Supervisor I, the Analyst I performs the work of average difficulty in a wide variety of technical analytical staff services assignments such as preparing reports, analyze data, and present ideas and recommendations on procedures, policies, and program alternatives effectively. The Analyst I is responsible for reviewing and analyzing proposed legislation and advises management on the potential impact, makes decisions on transactions of average complexity, prepares correspondence, monitor, track and initiate court commitment Forensic Reports. Responsible for cross training and the ability to fully process all duties outlined in all desk procedures. Must be able to read and interpret California Penal Code; Welfare and Institution Code; Case Law and Court Orders.
All state civil service employees are currently subject to a mandatory Personal Leave Program (PLP). The PLP program reduces the monthly gross salary but provides PLO leave credits in lieu of pay. The amount of salary reduction depends on the classification and associated union Bargaining Unit (BU). The BU that represents this position is BU# 1 – Service Employee International Union (SEIU). The expected salary reduction will be 3% of the salary identified above, and you will accrue approximately 5 each qualifying pay period. Incumbents will be subject to the PLP salary reduction and leave accruals through June 30, 2027.

DSH-Coalinga opened in 2005 and began treating forensically committed patients, mostly of which are sexually violent predators. It is a self-contained psychiatric hospital constructed with a security perimeter. California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) provides perimeter security as well as transportation of patients to outside medical services and court proceedings.
