Job summary

Allison Transmission is seeking a data analytics professional to design dashboards, analyze market data, and partner with marketing and product teams to generate actionable insights. You will drive AI-enabled analytics and work within a global team to deliver data solutions and value.

You will handle data pipelines, validate connections, and champion data governance while aligning with company objectives and stakeholder needs.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in business analytics or insights within a large company.
• Experience defining KPIs, data governance, and working with stakeholders.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and automation workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage global market data sets, resources, and external vendors.
• Collaborate with marketing and product teams to identify data needs and resolve through vendor relationships.
• Design and deploy Power BI dashboards to highlight business value, trends, and KPIs for stakeholders.
• Drive utilization of the MSS Intelligence Portal to support decision-making.
• Extract and analyze large datasets using Python and SQL to generate insights on products and markets.
• Work within a global team to understand stakeholder priorities and deliver valuable data solutions.
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Combine and document datasets, recommend improvements to data pipelines.
• Validate new data source connections and manage integrations.
• Lead AI tool development to streamline analytics.
• Represent the organization on cross-functional Data Analytics and AI teams.
• Demonstrate curiosity and initiative in exploring data and working with ambiguous requirements.

Key Performance Measures:

• Alignment with Allison Transmission’s core values of Quality, Customer Focus, Integrity, Innovation, and Teamwork Execution against Marketing, Sales, and Service "High Five" SMART goals
• Increasing utilization of MSS Intelligence Portal through effective data management and dashboard creation
• Launching AI tools to streamline internal data analysis
• Ability for key MSS members to access key internal and external data sets for data driven decision making

Experience

• 2-5 years’ experience in larger company providing actionable insights in business analytics, KPI definition
• Familiar with data life cycle, working with stakeholders to refine specifications and track changes from project identification to development.
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices.
• Familiarity with AI/ML models, automation solutions, and digital workflows.
• Strong knowledge of modern data platforms (Snowflake, Azure, AWS, GCP), BI tools (Power BI, Tableau), and automation technologies (RPA, workflow platforms).
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, international collaboration and influencing skills.
• Ability to connect technical solutions to business strategy and measurable impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in STEM field or business /analytics.
• Proven ability to implement business insights and create internal value.
• Comfort with ambiguity and Agile development processes.

Desired Qualifications

• Working knowledge of the cloud computing environment – Azure and Databricks is a plus

Travel Requirements

• <10% required, mainly domain focused conferences to keep up with the latest development in the field of data analysis/science
