Job summary

The Berkshire Gas Company in Pittsfield, MA is seeking an Analyst- Gas Operations to join our team. This role reports to the Senior Analyst-Gas Operations and is an onsite office position with collaborative cross-functional responsibilities.

The candidate will help manage budgets, analyze cash flow, and drive improvements in gas operations processes. Strong Excel skills, analytics experience, and clear communication across teams are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate's Degree with 3 years of experience.
• Or 6 years of experience with a High School Diploma/GED equivalent can be substituted for a degree.
• Experience in performing analytics and experience in front office processes, billing & invoicing.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products, especially Excel and the use of pivot tables and formulas for analytics and reporting.
• Strong written and verbal communication across all levels of the organization.
• Robust analytical experience with a focus on process and details.
• Proven multi-tasking, prioritization, and organization skills.
• Strong critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of benchmarking and process improvement techniques.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and manage tasks to ensure smooth execution.
• Assist in annual budget preparation, monthly cash flow revisions, and variance analysis.
• Analyze and implement improvements related to cycle time, cost, and purchasing in gas operations.
• Coordinate needs for work with supervisors and resolve moderately complex issues.
• Review and coordinate activities to uphold contracts with vendors.
• Create and execute purchase orders for gas operation materials.
• Conduct time-efficient invoicing for purchases.
• Provide metrics on group performance on a routine basis.

Work Type: Office (5 Days Onsite)

The salary range for this position is based on experience level ranging from $72,400 to $90,500 plus up to 16% bonus

Key Responsibilities

• Successfully prioritizes and manages various tasks or activities to ensure smooth execution
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, revising monthly cash flow, and preparing variance analysis in terms of actual expenditures, baseline, and original budget.
• Analyze and implement continuous improvements related to cycle time, cost, and purchasing through changes across the gas operations process.
• Work directly with appropriate supervisors to coordinate needs for work and resolve moderately issues.
• Review and coordinate operational activities required to ensure contractual obligations between the Company and vendors are maintained.
• Create and execute purchase orders to obtain proper material required for gas operation departments.
• Conduct time efficient invoicing for purchases.
• Provide metrics regarding group performance on a routine basis.
