Job summary

Strategic Education, Inc. is seeking an entry-level analyst to support multiple Finance functions, rotating through areas such as FP&A, accounting, and data analytics. You will build models, prepare reports, and learn to apply GAAP concepts in a corporate setting.

The role emphasizes developing practical financial insights, collaborating with teams, and adapting to varying tasks while contributing to budgeting and reporting processes. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in finance, accounting, economics or related field.
  • Internship with SEI recommended.
  • Must be able to travel up to 10%.

Job description

Entry-level analyst supporting multiple functions in the Finance area. The primary purpose is to support the group they are rotating through with typical analyst functions, including: reporting, model building, journal entries, or other related functions. The secondary purpose is to bring the skills they learn in each rotational stop to other areas within Finance.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Financial Planning and Analysis responsibilities may include:
  • Assist in preparing financial models and forecasts.
  • Analyze financial data to provide insights.
  • Support budgeting processes.
Accounting Responsibilities May Include
  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Prepare accounting reports for management.
  • Support internal controls documentation and compliance.
Data Analytics Responsibilities May Include
  • Collect, process, and clean data from different sources.
  • Develop clear visualizations and reports.
  • Analyze operational data to provide insights.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Skills
  • Analytical Skills - ability to dissect financial data, identify trends, interpret complex information, and make informed decisions.
  • Financial Reporting - understand financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements) and is comfortable with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Attention to Detail - focus on detail when analyzing data, preparing reports, or reconciling accounts.
  • Communication Skills - clearly write and verbally communicate to explain financial concepts, present findings, and collaborate with colleagues.

Work Experience
  • Completion of internship with SEI is highly recommended
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field required
Other
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Typical office setting.
  • Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.
  • Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.
  • Access information using a computer.
  • Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
  • Effectively cope with stressful situations.
  • Strong mental acuity.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
  • Other essential functions and marginal job functions are subject to modification.
