We are driven by a mission to connect the world for good and our people make it possible. Every single day, the creativity, dedication and genuine care for our communities are what push us forward and make this a truly special place to be.

Job Description

The Analyst, Energy Strategy & Operations supports the operating rhythm of QTS’ Energy Strategy organization — helping turn leadership’s priorities into disciplined plans and clear, measurable reporting. Reporting to the Director, Energy Strategy & Operations, the Analyst maintains the OKR/KPI trackers, prepares business-review and leadership materials, organizes and validates source data, and coordinates the logistics of the planning cadence so the most important work stays sequenced, on track, and transparently reported in a rapidly scaling environment.

What You Will Do
  • Operating Cadence & Planning Support: Help run the operating cadence — planning cycles, business reviews, and monthly/quarterly performance check-ins — and keep them on schedule.
  • Prepare agendas, pre-reads, and materials; capture decisions, actions, and follow-ups and track them to closure.
  • OKR & KPI Tracking: Maintain OKR and KPI trackers and dashboards; collect status inputs from workstream owners and keep them current.
  • Flag slipping items, risks, and dependencies early so they can be addressed.
  • Reporting & Leadership Materials: Build and update business-review decks, strategy updates, and standard reporting for a consistent, accurate leadership reporting layer.
  • Translate inputs into clear visualizations and summaries for planning, forecasting, and executive presentations.
  • Data & Analysis: Gather, organize, validate, and normalize data from cross-functional teams; support data quality and version control.
  • Build models and analyses that support energy strategy, capital planning, and cost/benchmarking decisions.
  • Program Management & Coordination: Track initiative intake, status, risks, and dependencies across the Energy portfolio and keep trackers current.
  • Partner with Energy Strategy, Analytics, Operations, Finance, Procurement, and Development teams to collect inputs and align on timelines.
  • Continuous Improvement: Help improve planning tools, templates, and processes to increase speed, transparency, and accountability.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What You Will Need to Be Successful
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Data Analytics or a field related with 8+ years of experience or a Master’s degree (MA/MS/MBA) with 5+ years of relevant experience in energy/utilities, strategy, analytics, or business operations.
  • Hands-on experience owning datasets, dashboards, and executive / investor reporting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with strong analytical and modeling skills.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and influence cross-functional stakeholders and produce executive-ready materials.
Nice to Have
  • Master’s degree (MA/MS/MBA) is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of power markets, utility interconnection, load forecasting, energy costs, or generation / infrastructure technologies.
  • Power BI or similar BI / visualization tools; experience with structured data governance and management.
  • Program/portfolio management or data-governance experience.
  • Experience in energy, utilities, power, infrastructure or large-scale data center / service-provider environments; strategy & operations or chief-of-staff exposure.
Other Key Skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to translate energy data and strategy into structured, decision-ready insights.
  • Working command of data governance, dashboards, scenario analysis, and executive / investor reporting.
  • Ability to coordinate and influence across a matrixed, cross-functional organization.
  • Comfort operating in a fast-growing, dynamic, and often ambiguous environment.
  • Unwavering commitment to customer service and QTS core values (Integrity, Character, Trust; Action, Innovation, Accountability; Team).
