Job summary

Royal Caribbean Group is seeking an Analyst in Deployment Planning, based onsite in Miami. You will support decarbonization efforts, assess itineraries under CII constraints, and work across brands to balance environmental compliance with fleet profitability.

Ideal candidates have engineering/environmental backgrounds, strong Excel analytics, and experience in maritime operations. The role involves collaboration with Global Marine Operations, Energy Management, and Strategy teams to drive energy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited university in engineering, environmental science, sustainability, business administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Understanding of cruise line operations, particularly in technical/engineering, environmental, or nautical operations.
  • Knowledge of vessel operations, energy management, and shipping decarbonization preferred.
  • Familiarity with environmental frameworks and regulatory affairs within the maritime industry.
  • Experience in cruise line itinerary planning is a plus.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills with ability to access and manipulate data from multiple sources.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; capable of presenting clear, quantitative analyses.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work independently in a cross-functional setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support decarbonization strategy development with port ops, itinerary planning, and technical & marine ops to balance compliance, constraints and profitability.
  • Aid in developing and assessing viable itineraries for ships challenged by the Carbon Intensity Index (CII).
  • Monitor regulatory changes and industry actions related to environmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with estimating decarbonization impacts, including CII compliance, carbon tax exposure, and fleet divestment options.
  • Help apply data science, analytics, and digitalization to improve energy efficiency and emissions reduction.
  • Manage itinerary planning for select small regions (N. Europe, Northeast).
  • Coordinate itinerary changes and obtain approvals across internal departments.

Position is onsite and based in Miami, FL

The Corporate Deployment and Itinerary Planning team partners closely with colleagues enterprise-wide in addition to key stakeholders across the destinations we sail to with the objective of planning and executing unforgettable experiences onboard and on land.

Analyst, Deployment Planning will support the team's decarbonization and itinerary optimization efforts, partnering with brands to reduce energy consumption while optimizing fleet profitability and performance, and helping ensure itineraries meet current and future environmental regulations. There will be exposure to senior management with the opportunity to work closely with branded Deployment teams, Global Marine Operations, Energy Management, Safety & Environment, Corporate Strategy, Shore Ex, Destination Development, Revenue Management, and other departments within the Company.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Support decarbonization strategy development in partnership with port operations, itinerary planning, and technical & marine operations, helping brands balance environmental compliance with operational constraints and profitability objectives in the detailed planning process.
  • Support the development and assessment of viable itineraries for ships challenged by the Carbon Intensity Index (CII), balancing environmental compliance with fleet profitability and performance.
  • Keep up to date with the regulatory compliance landscape regarding sustainability and climate-related requirements, and monitor industry and competitor actions and targets in response to environmental and regulatory changes.
  • Support financial estimates of decarbonization impact, including CII compliance, carbon tax exposure, and fleet divestment options.
  • Support the use of data science, analytics, and digitalization initiatives to advance energy efficiency and emissions reduction toward corporate and regulatory decarbonization targets.
  • Manage itinerary planning for select small regions (N. Europe, Northeast).
  • Coordinate itinerary changes with the deployment operations team and facilitate approval of new itineraries across internal departments.
  • Support continuous improvement of the processes and tools used to execute deployment planning.
Qualifications, Knowledge And Skills

  • Understanding of cruise line operations preferred, particularly in technical/engineering, environmental, or nautical operations.
  • Knowledge of vessel operations, energy management, and shipping decarbonization preferred.
  • Familiarity with environmental frameworks and regulatory affairs within the maritime industry.
  • Experience in cruise line itinerary planning a plus.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, with an emphasis on the ability to access and manipulate data from a variety of sources.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure logical, quantitative analyses of complex issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently within a cross-functional environment and use sound judgment.
