Job summary

Job description

About the Role

As an Analyst on the Deals Office’s Reporting & Analysis team, you’ll play a key role in delivering the insights and analysis that power our content investment decisions across Recorded Music and Music Publishing. This role requires a highly analytical mentality that’s equally comfortable with high-level strategy and granular data analysis.

Responsibilities
  • Query, transform, and analyze large financial datasets related to WMG’s artists and songwriters, synthesizing insights and strategic recommendations for senior collaborators.
  • Create reports, dashboards, and other intelligence tools to support financial decisions and deal valuation modeling.
  • Maintain data standards in WMG’s internal deal intelligence platform and contribute to analytics feature development.
  • Monitor and manage WMG’s global deal pipeline, ensuring compliance with governance and due diligence requirements.
  • Leverage generative and agentic AI to improve the speed and efficiency of insights and reporting workflows.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Sciences, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, analytics engineering, business intelligence, or a similar analytical role.
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience querying, transforming, and wrangling large financial datasets.
  • Familiarity with data visualization and dashboarding tools (Tableau, Streamlit, Plotly Dash, etc.) and ability to build dashboards that recommend solutions.
  • Excellent strategic and business acumen, with the ability to communicate clear recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet (Excel / Google Sheets) and presentation (PowerPoint / Google Slides) tools.
  • Experience leveraging generative and agentic AI tools to boost productivity in financial settings.
  • Experience conducting data analysis with Python (preferred).
  • Knowledge of artist and songwriter monetization channels, royalties, and other music industry financial processes is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with advanced statistical analysis (regression, hypothesis testing, causal inference, etc.) is preferred.
  • Passion for music and knowledge of industry trends.
Benefits and Working Conditions
  • Salary Range: $89,000 to $110,000 annually.
  • Position requires a minimum of 4 days per week in the office.
