Job summary

PUMA North America, Inc. is seeking a Customs Analyst to support the Head of Customs in implementing policies ensuring full compliance with U.S. customs regulations. You will classify imported products, audit entries, and partner daily with our customs broker.

You will work with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, manage product classifications in PID, and stay current on UFLPA and other trade policies while supporting international shipments and data analysis projects.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and Harmonized Tariff classifications.
  • 3-5 years of experience with U.S. Customs in footwear/apparel industry or related field.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Access database applications.

Responsibilities

  • Determine US Customs classification for Puma and Cobra Puma Golf products.
  • Audit customs entries and liaise with customs brokers.
  • Maintain product classification database in internal system PID.
  • Keep current knowledge of customs policies and regulations.

YOUR MISSION

The Customs Analyst supports the Head of Customs in the development and implementation of policies and procedures which ensure full compliance with U.S. Customs regulations, as well as other government agency regulations relevant to import operations. Role includes responsibility for classification of imported products, auditing of Customs entries and daily partnership with the company's Customs broker.

  • Working with the Harmonized Tariff Code of the United States and Canada, determine the US Customs classification of PUMA and Cobra PUMA Golf products.
  • Act as a corporate resource and facilitator of foreign trade requirements to management.
  • Interface with PUMA's US and Canadian Customs brokers to facilitate proper classification of product for duty purposes.
  • Maintain a global database of the product classification for Customs purposes, in PUMA internal system PID.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Customs Policy and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Process UPS and FedEx shipments for PUMA Brand and Cobra PUMA Golf to the USA and Canada.
  • Assist PUMA International Trade stakeholders with international return shipments from trade shows and from Brand Ambassadors.
  • Educate PUMA International Trade stakeholders on UFLPA and other US Trade policies for import to the USA.
  • Data analysis / special projects as needed
YOUR TALENT
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and Harmonized Tariff classifications
  • 3-5 Years of experience with U.S. Customs - Knowledge of laws, legal codes, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, agency rules, as it relates to the Footwear and Apparel industry.
  • Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Word and Excel programs and Access database applications
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple tasks and prioritize tasks to ensure timely completion
  • Ability to compare multiple sources of information and locate discrepancies
  • Ability to work closely with internal and external groups, developing effective relationships
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex documents
  • MUST be detail oriented, organized and efficient
  • Self-starter with ability to solve problems and deliver required results with minimal supervision.

The hiring range base pay for this position is $57,000 - $75,810 + Bonus + Benefits
