Moder is seeking a Compliance Analyst in the United States to support the Senior Compliance Manager. You will apply knowledge of regulatory requirements governing financial institutions to real solutions and contribute to risk management programs.

Summary

The Compliance Analyst will report to the Senior Compliance Manager. Will demonstrate a thorough knowledge of regulatory requirements governing financial institutions; proven ability to effectively research, analyze and apply compliance knowledge to specific solutions. Will contribute to the company risk management program through participation in projects and initiatives.

  • Strong aptitude for analytical work to include legal and regulatory research, documentation of findings, risk analysis, policy development, etc.
  • Strong reading comprehension of technical/regulatory documentation is required.
  • Performs research on information gathered from state regulatory sites and other databases
  • Assists with risk review programs across all business lines, partnering with Quality Control, Legal, and Business Units as needed
  • Documents all research and verification efforts
  • Documents and reports variances from company policy and procedures and works to resolve the issues
  • Makes recommendations for modifications and improvements to the systems, procedures, and processes
  • Support Senior Compliance Manager in monitoring emerging risks and regulatory compliance matters, keeping current on changes in laws and regulations impacting the compliance area
  • Support Senior Compliance Manager is assisting the company training department to develop and deliver training programs to ensure compliance with policy and regulation
  • Assists with the implementation of programs/initiatives to enhance compliance awareness
  • Maintains compliance risk assessments
  • Tracks the Business Unit's corrective action plan completion and follow-up when necessary
  • Development of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Develop, implement, and monitor programs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Gathers information, analyzes data trends, identifies root cause(s), and provides information to the business or project teams.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Senior Compliance Manager

Qualifications

Education And/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; relevant compliance work experience in lieu of a degree may be considered
  • Minimum 5 years of work experience in the Mortgage industry. Third-party mortgage services are a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in compliance, quality control, or audit department of financial services
  • Knowledge of Federal Regulations not limited to RESPA, TILA, CFPB, FCRA, ECOA, FDCPA, State Laws, and Investor/Insurer Guidelines (GSE, HUD, VA, USDA).
  • Regulatory research: able to dive into Federal regulation and understand its structure of it.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and writing skills.
  • Highly motivated, results-oriented individual who can work independently. Project management skills are a plus.
  • Strong organization skills, ability to learn quickly, and accuracy and timeliness in completing tasks.
  • Demonstrated high level of personal integrity, ability to professionally handle confidential matters, and reflect the appropriate level of judgment and maturity.
  • Work cooperatively and maintain effective communication and working relationship with co-workers and manager.
  • Able to work as part of a team as well as independently
