Job summary

Trinity Capital Inc. in San Diego seeks a Capital Formation Analyst to support private fund fundraising, product development, investor relations, and capital formation strategy across Trinity’s managed funds platform.

The role partners with the Head of Capital Formation and IR to bring funds to market, manage relationships with institutional and retail investors, and prepare analyses and materials for internal and external stakeholder. Strong organization and communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of alternatives fundraising, investor relations, or a closely related function.
  • Exposure to US-based institutional investors and/or investment consultants.
  • Working knowledge of alternative investment strategies, including private credit, and foundational knowledge of financial analysis, capital markets, and investment concepts.
  • Experience with CRM systems and prospect research tools.
  • Highly organized and proactive; comfortable taking initiative in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex financial/operational concepts into clear messaging.
  • Familiarity with private credit, BDCs, or alternative asset management preferred.
  • Professional presence, sound judgment, and discretion in investor-facing settings.

Responsibilities

  • Support fundraising initiatives across investor and consultant relationships; pre- and post- meeting logistics, CMR maintenance, briefings, roadshow preparation, investment context, and recent activity.
  • Conduct targeting and prospecting to new institutional targets across public and corporate pensions, sovereign wealth funds, foundations and endowments, family offices, insurance companies, and asset managers.
  • Support the development of fundraising infrastructure at Trinity Capital; including the implementation of tools, analytics, processes, and relationships that support capital formation – define workflows, promote adoption, and own day-to-day data hygiene.
  • Support fundraising plans and execution of fundraising; supporting relationship management and investor relations practices, with the opportunity for meaningful role and career growth in both segments.
  • Assist in drafting and editing key public communications including press releases, earnings scripts, shareholder letters, and investor presentation decks.
  • Conduct peer-benchmarking and competitive analysis (e.g., valuation comps, messaging, disclosure trends) to inform IR strategy.
  • Contribute to the execution of Trinity’s quarterly earnings process: support Q&A prep, draft talking points, and coordinate post-call follow-ups.
  • Manage public investor targeting efforts using Irwin and other IR platforms.
  • Produce and manage Trinity’s monthly investor newsletter including content drafting, layout, and distribution logistics.
  • Assist in special projects, including all communications, investor day planning, data analytics, and research initiatives.

This is a high-impact role within a rapidly growing managed funds platform, responsible for supporting fund product development, investor relationship management, and capital formation strategy, and partnering closely with firm leadership to bring new private fund offerings to market and deliver elevated investor service.

Job Description

Trinity Capital is seeking a motivated Analyst to support Private Fund Capital Formation as part of Trinity’s managed funds platform. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a growing organization at the intersection of innovative companies and private markets. The new hire will primarily work with Trinity’s Head of Capital Formation on product development, fundraising, relationship management, and client servicing across the firm’s suite of private fund offerings. They will shape product offerings, bring funds to market, manage relationships with institutional and retail investors, execute investor and consultant due diligence, prepare key reports, and deliver best-in-class investor client service. In addition, they will support Trinity’s Head of Investor Relations to shape investor communications, manage relationships, and deliver key analysis as part of Trinity’s IR strategy.

Responsibilities

Capital Formation – Private Funds

Experience
