Job summary

Springfield Public Schools is seeking a facilities/operations professional to manage the school’s physical plant and coordinate logistics in collaboration with ISSPS and Springfield Public Schools staff.

The role requires autonomy in decision making, strong communication with families and staff, and a commitment to safety and efficiency in a diverse urban district.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or five years of experience.
• At least 2-3 years of experience in field is required.
• Basic computer skills with MS Word and MS Excel.
• Must be skilled with navigating technology innovations and support and enhance tech integration.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with all ISSPS, Springfield, state, and federal requirements.
• Managing the school’s physical plant.
• Coordinating with SPS personnel regarding any physical plant challenges/problems.
• Overseeing transportation, food services, health, and safety.
• Managing technology in the building.
• Leading event logistics (assemblies, field trips, etc.).
• Coordinating visitor procedures.
• Working with ISSPS, SPS, and others to ensure effective communication and timely completion of all logistical matters.
• Building and fostering positive relationships with family members and the community.
• Serving as a representative of the school to the community; informing families about school happenings and engagement opportunities.
• Supervise public areas to reinforce school behavior expectations.
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

• Serving as a representative of the school to the community; working with staff members to insure that families are well-informed about what is happening in school and have other opportunities to interact positively with the school
• Supervise public areas (such as hallways and other public spaces) when appropriate to reinforce school behavior expectations
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor

This position requires autonomy for decision making and independent judgment.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or can be substituted for five years of experience
• At least 2-3 years of experience in field is required
• Basic computer skills with applications such as MS Word, MS Excel etc.
• Must be skilled with navigating technology innovations and support and enhance the technology integration of the Executive Principal and team

Salary

$60,000-$76,564, depending on experience.
