Job summary

HAS I, formally HA Sustainable Infrastructure Capital, Inc., seeks an Analyst/Associate to join our Annapolis, MD portfolio management team. You will analyze existing investments, support due diligence on new opportunities, and build detailed financial models to assess performance, risks, and opportunities.

The role requires 2–5 years in renewable energy project finance or related finance fields, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred; CFA candidate a plus.
  • 2–5 years in renewable energy project finance/finance or investment banking in power sector.
  • Excellent MS Excel financial modeling and data mining skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly.
  • Dependable, proactive team player with ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed portfolio analytics on operating investments including production, revenue, and expenses.
  • Manage dataflows from investments and map into internal databases.
  • Build and manage financial models and project proformas to evaluate economics and risks.
  • Prepare briefing decks and reporting materials summarizing asset performance and improvement opportunities.
  • Support due diligence for debt/equity investments and acquisition activity, analyzing production and operating costs.

This individual will support the review and analysis of HASI’s existing investment portfolio as well as support due diligence of new investment opportunities. Salary Range Expected salary range of $100,000-$147,500 based on experience and location. Responsibilities Portfolio Management and Analytics Detailed performance review of the operating portfolio of grid connected or behind-the-meter investments, including various aspects of production, revenue, and operating expenses. Manage dataflows from investments and map them into internal database. Build and manage financial models, including underlying project operating proformas, to analyze economics and review risks. Work closely and collaboratively with broader portfolio management and investment teams to achieve objectives above. Prepare briefing deck and reporting materials for management synthesizing asset performance and avenues for improvement. Investment Due Diligence Work closely with the Investment Team to support due diligence processes for debt/equity investments and acquisition activity, including analyzing production, operating expenses, and merchant curves. Education and Work Experience Bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution or Master’s in Finance, Economics or Business; CFA Charter holder or CFA candidate would be a plus 2-5 years of experience in renewable energy project finance/valuation or finance/investment banking in the power sector. Excellent MS Excel financial modeling and data mining skills, with demonstrable experience working with complex models, is a necessary requirement.
