Job summary

Lument is seeking Analysts for its Associate Development Program (ADP) in Columbus, Ohio and New York City. The 12-month program provides internal training in commercial real estate, credit analysis, and Lument products, with exposure to the multifamily, affordable, and seniors housing sectors.

Participants will rotate across production, credit, and asset management before placement, with relocation support and a hybrid work model that requires in-office presence, as the program runs July

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, real estate, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and meet deadlines while managing multiple deals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive financial analysis for transactions.
  • Create credit profiles, mortgage insurance apps, and exhibits for deals.
  • Support loan originators and underwriters throughout due diligence.
  • Participate in all deal stages from engagement to closing with internal and client interactions.
  • Develop knowledge of Lument programs, policies, and mortgage products.
  • Involve in corporate and strategic initiatives as needed.
  • Work professionally with the team and uphold ORIX USA core values.

Purpose And Job Summary

Lument is currently seeking to hire Analysts for its Associate Development Program(“ADP”) at its Columbus, Ohio and New York City offices.

The Associate Development Program (ADP) is a best-in-class program that develops entry-level analyst and associate talent. Participants in the ADP will undergo a comprehensive internal training program in commercial real estate, credit analysis, and Lument products, with exposure to the multifamily, affordable, and seniors housing sectors.

The diverse deal exposure provides an opportunity for participants to explore career paths over a 12-month period that best suits their strengths and interests before making a permanent career decision. Upon completion of this initial training, ADP participants will work closely with these areas of the business on various aspects of production, credit, and asset management support before direct placement in one of these groups.

The 12-month program is tailored towards recent undergraduate candidates, with recruiting focused from August to December. Individuals who are currently working with 1-3 years of experience are also eligible for consideration. As a growing firm with expanding services, there is excellent potential for professional development and promotion within the company.

Participants in the Associate Development Program will be required to reside in New York or Columbus, Ohio and be based in those offices for the 12-month duration of the program from July 2027-July 2028. The geographic location of permanent roles will vary dependent upon sector and line of business.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive financial analysis for transactions.
  • Creation of credit profiles, mortgage insurance applications, and corresponding exhibits, offering memoranda, management, and board presentations, pitch books, and other material relevant to originating and executing leveraged finance, private financings, M&A, and financial advisory transactions.
  • Participation in all stages of deals from engagement to closing, including day-to-day interactions with internal team and staff, clients, agencies, investors, and other funding participants.
  • Provide support to loan originators and underwriters as necessary to help facilitate the due diligence process.
  • Develop and apply basic knowledge of Lument programs, requirements, policies and procedures, and other mortgage and finance programs offered by Lument.
  • Involvement in corporate and strategic initiatives as the need arises.
  • Work professionally and harmoniously with team and coworkers.

This position has frequent contact with all levels of employees and management. In addition, this role may interact with outside business partners, vendors, consultants, and other office visitors.

Education, Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, real estate, or a related field required.
  • Formal education, internship, or work experience in commercial real estate or sectors served by the firm preferred.
  • Willingness to relocate required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (with emphasis on Microsoft Excel).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments, and meet critical and established deadlines; Ability to manage multiple assignments and transactions simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and to use discretion in the performance of daily activities.
  • Exceptional communicator with a professional business image and command of the English language, both verbally and in writing (spelling, grammar, and punctuation).
  • Ability to learn quickly and demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a high- performance team.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and constant interruptions; Ability to adjust priorities in a changing environment.

Annual base salary gross: $70,000 - $90,000 (NY only). The base salary range represents the estimated low and high end of ORIX’s salary for this position based on geography. Actual base salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base pay is one component of ORIX’s total compensation package for employees.
