Analyst/Associate, CMBS/Cross Sector Research Strategist

Job Description:

This role involves assisting senior CMBS and cross-sector strategists. The successful candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on attention to detail while managing multiple projects. Responsibilities include maintaining, updating, and analyzing data across securitized products sectors, supporting internal and external clients with data and ad-hoc requests, and collaborating with senior team members on presentations and research.

Effective communication and data management skills are essential, as the role involves presenting market strategy ideas and working with various internal teams such as mortgage technology and trading.

Tasks:

1. Assist in creating and publishing research reports and presentations on cross-sector strategy, commercial real estate, and CMBS markets.
2. Engage with clients to communicate team views and respond to requests.
3. Support trading desks with bond or asset class analysis.
4. Assist sales teams with data requests and analysis.
5. Monitor market news and incorporate insights into research.
6. Utilize databases to manage and report large data sets.
7. Knowledge of Intex, Intexcalc, Bloomberg, Python, SQL, Relational Databases, and Excel is preferred.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; backgrounds in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, or Finance are a plus.
• Experience in structured finance or commercial real estate is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong data management skills, capable of handling complex spreadsheets.
• Attention to detail with a focus on quality control.
• Proficiency in SQL/Database, Excel/VBA/Python, or similar data processing languages preferred.
• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
