Job description

If you recognize yourself in this job description, we invite you to contact us without delay to arrange an initial telephone discussion. We'd be delighted to tell you more about the role and the working environment.

Do you believe finance can be something more meaningful than just a bunch of greedy wolves fooling around with others’ money until a crisis happens? Would you like to build a world where everyone can access a user-friendly tool to grow their money fairly and according to their needs? Do you have what it takes for that? Great, because we are currently recruiting a business analyst as part of our product team!

In our ambition to become a market leader in investment advisory technology, we are working on delivering a “software as a service” for financial institutions in the cloud and serving existing and new clients through this new technology.

Tasks

A business analyst’s tasks are varied and depend on the project you will be working on as well as on your affinities and interests. Our BAs have a wide variety of skills and interests and are staffed into teams accordingly.

The most common tasks are:

  • Participate in the collection and development of business requirements, whether they are client needs or for new R&D developments;
  • Detail these business requirements into more specific needs;
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of business processes, systems, and data through workshops with relevant stakeholders (clients, business experts, other BAs, architects, etc.)
  • Find solutions to meet clients’ requirements using new or existing products in collaboration with our architects and senior experts;
  • Participate in workshops with clients, architects, product experts and developers;
  • Break down a feature into user stories;
  • Develop detailed specifications and use cases that will be used by developers and QAs;
  • Maintain detailed documentation of the application;
  • Follow-up with quality officers and developers; and
  • Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) and provide support during the implementation phase of projects.

Other tasks you can expect depending on projects, skills, and affinities:

  • Design of conceptual data models (UML) and state and sequence diagrams;
  • API implementation and specification;
  • Front-end design and specification;
  • Assist the quality officers by drafting testing scenarios; and
  • Take part in end-to-end testing of new features as part of a multi-squad exercise.
What we expect of you
  • Reactivity and adaptability will be part of your daily challenges as you will take part in workshops with various stakeholders;
  • Experience working with API-first technology, on the developing side or the integration (consumer) side;
  • Experience with modeling techniques (BPMN diagrams, UML class, state machine diagram and sequence diagrams);
  • Experience with Scrum, Jira, Confluence, ...;
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to quickly understand and resolve issues, in the context of IT-oriented projects;
  • Conceptual thinking & abstraction capacity;
  • Positive mindset and solution-oriented attitude;
  • Team-player;
  • Stress resilient;
  • Autonomous and resourceful even in uncomfortable situations;
  • Good communication skills written and oral;
  • Fluent in French, and good knowledge of English;
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Functional Analyst
Any of these experiences will make you stand out
  • Experience with Enterprise Architect (Sparx);
  • Experience with Figma;
  • Experience with Postman;
  • Experience in a software company, preferably in a product-oriented environment such as a SaaS company.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in the banking industry (wealth management);
What can you expect from us?
  • Flexible working environment with home-working policy (50%);
  • Modern and spacious working place in Liège (Pôle Image), including terrace, pool table, darts and excellent coffee or tea.
  • Working in an inspiring Fintech spirit: A dedicated team awaits you to join them in challenging the established rules and creating a new financial environment that would be simpler and more transparent for everybody.
  • Fast personal developments: As a Fintech, everybody on board has a crucial role to play and will quickly be given responsibilities. This is a great opportunity for you to challenge your skills and talents without having to wait several years to get to a position with decisional power.
  • Collaboration with young and dynamic talents: Who better than millennials could build solutions for millennials (or rather anyone with the same progressive mindset)? That’s why we have chosen to trust young talents who are craving innovation, to build products they would like to use.
