Job summary

Westerkamp Group, LLC, an expanding healthcare Revenue Cycle Management provider, seeks a Hospital-based Insurance Follow Up Analyst in our Houma, LA office to resolve outstanding and unpaid insurance claims. You will join our business office and handle patient and third-party follow-up tasks within the Epic patient accounting system.

The role emphasizes accurate claim review, denial management, and collaboration with guarantors and third-party insurers, in a HIPAA-compliant environment.

Qualifications

• Must have full understanding of insurance follow up processes (billing, collections, credit balances, managed care, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance claims) for hospital claims.
• Ability to review account balances and denials and perform steps to overturn the denials. Also identify adjustments and write-offs in cases where an appeal is denied or as required by policy.
• Ability to adhere to strict compliance and confidentiality guidelines related to HIPAA.
• Excellent telephone and communication skills with strong analytical capabilities and ability to work a high volume of claims.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills to work with guarantors and various third-party insurance departments.
• Basic knowledge of CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10 codes.
• The ability to work independently and accomplish goals working on a wide variety of special projects within the business office.
