Job description

Reports To: Chief Investment Officer | Full-Time, Exempt | Chattanooga, TN (In-Office)

WHO WE ARE

Sage Hill Investors is a private family office managing an investment portfolio spanning private securities, real assets, public markets, soccer, and a family foundation. We operate with a long-term vision for high growth and building a philanthropic legacy in our community.

We are a lean and collaborative team that works with a high degree of trust and autonomy in a flexible work environment, while also setting high expectations for the company, each department, and employee. For someone to succeed at SHI, he or she will have a high degree of integrity, be adaptable to new opportunities, and genuinely thrive in fast paced environments.

PURPOSE

The Analyst position is a dynamic role with deep exposure to investments across asset classes. You will be the backbone of our investment operation, working directly with the Chief Investment Officer. You will manage the systems and data that allow the CIO to focus on high level strategy. You will be the person who keeps the train on the tracks- ensuring investment opportunities and current portfolio updates are tracked, analyzed, and communicated.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
  • Portfolio Oversight. You maintain a comprehensive and current view of the portfolio across all asset classes. You track valuation changes, review quarterly updates from fund managers, and communicate high-level updates to the team. The portfolio is your domain.
  • Pipeline Management. You will take an active role in helping the CIO build out a formal investment pipeline process. You filter and prioritize incoming opportunities, organize materials at each stage, and prepare the analysis our Investment Committee needs to make good decisions. Your job is to bring order and clarity to a steady flow of varied and dense information.
  • Benchmarking & Analysis. You translate qualitative and quantitative data that drive decisions. You are fluent in the numbers, but more importantly you recognize patterns, surface insights, and communicate findings in a way that is clear and actionable.
  • Initial Diligence Support. As your understanding of our thesis deepens, you will take on initial diligence calls with fund managers and deal sponsors. This requires not just analytical rigor, but genuine intellectual curiosity and the ability to ask the right questions.
  • Systems & Operational Continuity. You work closely with our accounting team (which processes capital calls, distributions, and valuation statements) to build reports and maintain data accuracy across the organization. The standard does not slip when things get busy, and you take ownership of that continuity.
WHAT YOU BRING
Experience & Technical Skills
  • 2 to 7 years of experience in investment analysis; wealth management, private equity, family office, or a related field is desirable
  • Genuine fluency with financial data. You are comfortable building and managing complex spreadsheets, analyzing investment performance, and working in wealth management software
  • Familiarity with alternative assets, private investments, and family office or fund-level reporting
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and a genuine interest in learning and using AI tools to bring efficiency and quality to the work
  • Strong written and verbal communication. You can take a spreadsheet full of numbers and tell a clear, accurate story with it
Personal Attributes
  • Someone who takes ownership of their work and manages themselves well. You know what matters, you stay organized, and you follow through.
  • A person of high integrity. This role involves access to sensitive financial and family information, and we are looking for someone who handles that with the care and discretion it deserves.
  • Detail-oriented and dependable. You build clean systems, keep them current, and manage competing priorities without things slipping.
  • A clear communicator and a good collaborator. You come prepared, engage directly, and make the people around you better.
WHAT WE OFFER
  • Very competitive pay to match industry
  • Annual bonus based on portfolio performance
  • Health, dental, and vision benefits
  • 401k + company match
  • Fringe benefits through Joon.io
  • Free season tickets to Chattanoogafc.com
  • Flexible PTO
  • Best new office in Chattanooga, TN.

At SHI, you will thrive in a high-trust, development-focused environment where your work is taken seriously and your professional growth matters.
