THE ROLE:

AMD's SERDES Technology Group develops high-performance electrical and optical transceiver PHYs in advanced PDKs. We are seeking an electrical/optical PHY micro-architect to join our world-class team.

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical/optical PHY micro-architecture, being a self-starter and a collaborative team player capable of driving tasks to completion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • PMA micro-architecture definition, implementation, and verification: clock generation and distribution, data path, DSP, CDR, calibration & adaptation loops
  • Electrical/optical link budgeting and modeling at top-level and block-level
  • Circuit design of transceiver building blocks (ADC, DAC, PLL, clock distribution, receiver front-end, transmitter front-end, serializer, deserializer, etc.)
  • Conducting peer reviews of design and verification results
  • Collaborating with validation teams for silicon bring-up and evaluation
  • Mentoring junior engineers to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and project milestones
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

The successful candidate will possess extensive design experience in both optical and electrical transceiver design.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

PhD in Electrical Engineering or related fields, or an M.S. with 3+ years of relevant experience in optical and electrical transceiver design.
