Position Purpose

The Aircraft Mechanic Instructor is responsible for delivering engaging instruction in assigned courses, ensuring students understand both theoretical concepts and practical applications in aircraft maintenance. The role includes managing administrative tasks like record-keeping, assessing student performance, and collaborating to improve curriculum. This position fosters a supportive learning environment that promotes student success and industry readiness.

Key Duties
  • Provide engaging teaching in aircraft maintenance principles and develop curricula aligned with industry standards.
  • Create a positive classroom environment that encourages participation and offers individualized support.
  • Manage administrative responsibilities, including maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
Job Responsibilities
  • Teach scheduled classes, fostering an inclusive environment that promotes engagement and learning.
  • Collaborate with program staff to develop curriculum, prepare materials, and schedule classes.
  • Maintain a safe, organized classroom and laboratory environment with proper tools and equipment.
  • Keep accurate records of attendance and grades, submitting documentation as required.
  • Notify supervisors of issues and implement retention strategies to support students.
  • Participate in training, observations, and respond to feedback to improve teaching.
  • Attend faculty meetings and training sessions for professional development.
  • Assist in managing departmental inventory and supplies.
  • Monitor student attendance and address retention concerns.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to support the program.
Required Qualifications
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum three years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience
  • Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of aircraft maintenance
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking under pressure
  • High integrity, professionalism, and excellent communication skills
  • Motivated, goal-oriented, with problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in teams with strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Flexibility to work outside scheduled hours as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in a related field
  • Experience with CampusNexus
Work Schedule
  • Part-time: Friday to Sunday, 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
  • Or full-time with benefits
