PRIMARY FUNCTION

Dismantles, rebuilds, and installs panel boards, control cases, cable reels and associated electrical equipment.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

Small hand tools, volt-ohm meter, hoist, fork truck, hydraulic crimpers, micrometer, caliper

SAMPLE WORK PROCEDURE

  • Dismantles electrical control cases, panel, cable reels, and related electrical equipment.
  • Removes all wire, cleans electrical connections, paints panels and control cases.
  • Checks electrical components with volt-ohm meter; replacing or repairing parts as required.
  • Using various diagrams, reassembles and installs control cases, panel boards, cable reels and other electrical components.
  • Tests function of reassembled equipment, consulting with supervisor when required.
  • Obeys all safety rules and performs housekeeping assignments.
