Job summary

Komatsu in Duffield, VA seeks an Electrical Equipment Technician to dismantle and repair electrical panels, control cases, and cable reels on mining equipment. You will use hand tools, meters, and diagrams to reinstall and test components while maintaining safety standards.

Three+ years of electrical repair experience preferred; able to read diagrams, operate measuring instruments, and work any shift including overtime.

Qualifications

• Three or more years of experience in electrical repair of mining equipment preferred.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and schematics.
• Willing to work any shift and overtime.
• Knowledge of SAP applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle electrical control panels, cases, and related equipment.
• Remove wiring, clean connections, paint panels and control cases.
• Check electrical components with volt-ohm meter; replace or repair parts as needed.
• Reassemble and install control cases, panels, and cable reels as per diagrams.
• Test function of re-assembled equipment and consult supervisor as required.
• Follow safety rules and perform housekeeping.

Tools and Equipment: Small hand tools, volt-ohm meter, hoist, fork truck, hydraulic crimpers, micrometer, caliper

Sample Work Procedure:

• Dismantles electrical control cases,panels, cable reels, and related electrical equipment.
• Removesall wire,cleanselectrical connections,paintspanels and control cases.
• Checkselectrical components with volt-ohm meter; replacing or repairing parts asrequired.
• Using various diagrams, reassembles and installs control cases, panel boards, cablereelsand other electrical components.
• Tests function of re-assembled equipment, consulting with supervisor whenrequired.
• Obeys all safety rules and performs housekeeping assignments.
