Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking an Ammunition Specialist to manage receipt, storage, documentation, and issue of conventional ammunition and related items. You will learn to inspect, modify, and demilitarize munitions and gain skills for ordnance handling.

Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Training and seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training, with paid instruction and tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.
• Must pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Citizenship requirements apply.

Responsibilities

• Operate stock control procedures using computer or manual records.
• Perform ammunition supply stock control and accounting duties.
• Inspect weapon systems to determine need for repair or destruction.
