Job summary

Koch Fertilizer, LLC seeks an Operations and Maintenance Technician to support safe, compliant operation at our ammonia storage terminal in Marshalltown, IA. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and operate refrigeration systems, storage tanks, and loading equipment for ammonia products.

Responsibilities cover the full lifecycle of ammonia systems, including instrumentation, PLC controls, pumps, and motors, with a strong focus on safety and environmental compliance. On-call duties are required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in mechanical/electrical troubleshooting and repair.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and operate refrigeration systems, storage tanks, and loading/unloading equipment for ammonia and fertilizers.
• Oversee ammonia system lifecycle: refrigeration, heating, instrumentation, PLCs, pumps and motors.
• Follow safety procedures and address environmental risks in handling hazardous chemicals.
• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and support Health & Safety audits.
• Respond to on-call requests and emergencies as needed.
